The publication „Ostra sztuka. Gotyk na ziemi radomskiej” („Sharp art. The Gothic in Radom region”) is a supplement and complement to the exhibition under the same title organized by the Museum of Jacek Malczewski in Radom in 2021. The monograph opens with four introductory texts: „The land of Radom in the Middle Ages” by Dariusz Kupisz, „Gothic sacral architecture of the former Radom powiat” by Monika Lipko, „Gothic furnishings of churches from the former Radom powiat” by Tomasz Gola, „Gothic castles of the historic Radom powiat” by Zbigniew Lechowicz. The second, more extensive part of the album consists of richly illustrated catalog notes and descriptions of individual churches, monasteries, castles and other buildings, as well as objects of moving art, such as baptismal fonts, sculptures and reliefs, paintings, monstrances and bells. All the flagship monuments and slightly forgotten gothic pearls of the Radom land are represented: Radom (with its monasteries and churches), Odechów, Sieciechów, Kozienice, Janowiec, Solec, Sienno, Iłża, Szydłowiec, Chlewiska, Wieniawa, Zwoleń, and Smogorzów. Photos of details of excellent quality are complemented by aerial photos, and architectural objects have plans with the Gothic phase marked. Each note is accompanied by summary in English. The whole picture shows the Gothic style, usually quite late, influenced by neighboring centers, mainly in Lesser Poland (Kraków), but with extraordinary aesthetic and historical values.
